ABUJA—Imo State Council of Elders has accused the Presidency and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state of masterminding security breaches and attacks on Governor Rochas Okorocha.
The Council, therefore, called on President Goodluck Jonathan to call his party men and women in Imo State to order to prevent the escalation of the situation.
At a press conference yesterday in Abuja, Chairman of the Council and former Deputy Director General, State Security Service, SSS, Okey Njemanze, said the call was necessary in the light of the forthcoming 2015 general elections.

Njemanze further cited the incident of the recent clash between Governor Okorocha’s convoy and that of Senator Chris Anyanwu, who represents Imo East senatorial zone, saying incessant attacks against the governor could trigger political crisis in the state.
He stated that if the situation was not tackled immediately, there might be possible blood bath among loyalists of different political gladiators in the state.
