Some Police Officers deployed to Osun State for the upcoming election has lamented that they are not well taken care of. The officers disclosed to DAILY TIMES correspondent that they are stranded. “We are stranded here in Osun State. We have been in Osun State now for five days but we have not been catered for.”
“No one has come around to take care of us, no accommodation or feeding. We are over 475 regular police officers deployed from Lagos State but our welfare has not been taken care of,” a source said and appealed to those in charge to look into the issue.”
This might be seen as an opportunity for desperate politicians to take advantage of the situation and use it in their favour. An officer who has no place to sleep or money for food can easily violate electoral laws as these things are basic human needs. Whether military or civilian, our survival is the first and election duties come after.
So, authorities in charge should quickly do something about this because the police officers must have had enough of it before they could voice it out.
