Bola Tinubu Acquires Second $50m Private Jet

I have just been informed that the Lion of Bourdillion, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken delivery of his second private jet, a brand new Bombadier Global Express XRSvalued at $50 million for effective intercontinental dash and junketing around the troubled Lugardian contraption. The Jet, will be the second which he now personally owns
and he reportedly
got it so that he would not be refuelling when he goes on long haul journeys.
The jet is a Bombadier Global Express XRS, the same type owned by Aliko Dangote, Folorunsho Alakija and Mike Adenuga Jnr which comes at the plus $50m bracket, according to an aviation expert.
Reminds me of President Goodluck Jonathan’s message to workers on the occasion of May Day or is it ‘Workers Day’ yesterday, before the real MAY DAY mayhem broke.
According to the Otuokean, ”Nigeria is NOT a poor country.”
Why? Let’s roll!
In the words of the Man from Otuoke——
“Nigeria is not a poor country. Nigerians are the most travelled people. There is no country you go that you will not see Nigerians. The GDP of Nigeria is over half a trillion dollars and the economy is growing at close to 7 per cent.’’
“Aliko Dangote was recently classified among the 25 richest people in the World.”
Now here is the killer punch from Bros J:
“I visited Kenya recently on a state visit and there was a programme for Nigerian and Kenyan business men to interact and the number of private jets that landed in Nairobi that day was a subject of discussion in Kenyan media for over a week. If you talk about ownership of private jets, Nigeria will be among the first 10 countries, yet they are saying that Nigeria is among the five poorest countries.”
I don’t blame uncle J, neither do I blame the Jagabandit of Bourdillion.
After all the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeoye, justified his ownership of a private jet, saying it is necessary for efficiency in his assignment.
Our  embattled Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Alison- Madueke also maintains a second private jet which she used to fly around the world.
The jet, a Global Express XRS plane, is allegedly chartered specifically for her private and official trips overseas. Interestingly, the luxury toy is a whooping N8.2 billion jet as at 2010, because it’s one of the most expensive in the world.
The Bombardier Global Express is a large cabin, ultra long range business jet manufactured by Bombardier Aerospace in Montreal, Canada. The Global Express features an advanced all new supercritical wing with a 35° sweep and winglets, plus a new T-tail. The aircraft is powered by two BMW Rolls Royce BR-710 turbofans with FADEC. The advanced flight deck features a six screen Honeywell Primus 2000 XP EFIS suite and is offered with optional heads-up displays. Typical configuration features 18 passenger seats including fully berthable seats and an aft lounge/bedroom. The aircraft has a full galley and two lavatories. It is manned by two expatriate pilots and four cabin crew members.
A return trip on the XRS plane is said to cost taxpayers €600,000 (N150 million) .And due to her tight schedule, it is estimated that she goes on official trips at least four times monthly. That’s an estimate of N600 million monthly and N7.2 billion yearly.
The jet is different from the Challenger 850, which the House of Representatives said gulped N10bn in the last two years to fly the minister.
So why the hullabaloo about the acquisition of a $50 million bird by the Jagaban himself. After-all, money is not our problem in Nigeria, it’s how to spend it.
Now back to Jonathan on Nigerian poverty, he went further to explain why a Naijaman does not express gratitude when you offer him a tip.
Hear him again:
“Some of you will experience that there is an amount of money you will give to a Nigerian who needs help and will not even regard it and thank you but if you travel to other countries and give such an amount, the person will celebrate.”
And here is the final dismissal of the obsequious World Bank listing of Nigeria as one of the five poorest country in the world in obeisance to the imperialist Lords.
“But the World Bank statistics shows that Nigeria is among the five poorest countries. Our problem is not poverty, our problem is redistribution of wealth.’’
Do you still blame those who wonder whether Jonathan really obtained a PHD degree?
And if indeed Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan actually obtained a genuine doctorate degree, Iam beginning to think that whoever was the Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt when he successfully defended his Powerful High Degree must be taken to the Eagle Square in Abuja and publicly flogged and sacked, if still in any form of public service!
WE ARE NOT POOR, WE OWN PRIVATE JETS - President Goodluck Jonathan
The world bank had, a few weeks ago, indicated that Nigeria has some of the poorest people in the world. Now our President Jonathan has responded by giving reasons why the World Bank was wrong. Please do not ask what took him this long. Here is his response, read and be proud:
“Nigeria is not a poor country. Nigerians are the most travelled people. There is no country you go that you will not see Nigerians.
